EventRecast

Privacy Policy

Effective date: TBD

1. Who this policy applies to

This policy describes how EventRecast ("we", "us") handles personal data of broadcasters using the platform and the attendees they reach with viewer links.

Broadcasters are users who sign up for an account and run captioned events. Attendees are people who open viewer links to read live captions; they do not create accounts.

2. Data we collect

From broadcasters: account information (name, email, password hash), workspace and event metadata, billing information for paid plans, and the audio captured during a live broadcast for the duration of caption generation.

From attendees: anonymized engagement signals (concurrent viewer counts, language selection, timestamps of bookmarks and shares). We do not collect attendee names, emails, or persistent identifiers.

3. How we use data

Audio is processed in real time to produce captions and translations, and is not retained after the broadcast ends unless explicitly enabled by the broadcaster.

Transcripts and AI summaries are stored on behalf of the broadcaster and accessible via their workspace dashboard.

Engagement signals are aggregated to produce per-event analytics and are not joined to any external identifier.

4. Data sharing

We use third-party processors for speech-to-text, translation, and infrastructure hosting. We do not sell personal data.

A processor list is available on request.

5. Retention

Account data is retained as long as the account is active. Transcripts are retained according to the broadcaster's workspace retention setting.

Audio is not retained beyond the broadcast except where the broadcaster has explicitly enabled recording.

6. Your rights

Depending on jurisdiction (including GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data we hold about you. Contact privacy@eventrecast.com to exercise these rights.

7. Contact

For privacy questions, contact privacy@eventrecast.com.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated to broadcasters via email and via a banner on this page.
